beaver dams
I walked my land today. found a darn beaver dam, bout 5 feet tall,backing alot of water into useful ground. any ideas how to rid these dam things. by the way we live in southwest new york, worried about laws. ha. want my land back. almost 8 acres are wet or marshy.

To be safe contact your Fish & Game department...website???...or slowly lower the dam until the beavers give up.

thanks, I like both ideas. I think as soon as the spring thaw is over and the flooding is down, I will contact someone and find the most legal and quickest way possible.

Connibear traps are swift humane killers not at all like leg hold traps or snares set where the critters don't drown. If you set snares or leg holds deep enough underwater the animal drowns quickly but doesn't expire nearly as fast as with a connibear.
