Do you have a name for your land or house?
I don't know if this is the right place for this post. Some of you might think this is a silly question. But, do you have a name for your land, house, or property?
For example, Graceland, Tara (although fictional), Oak Alley, etc. I have always liked the way ranches or plantations had a name. Maybe its weird, but when given a name, it kind of comes to life even more to me.
Just curious.

When you have a 40 acre garden, it is called work. When you have a place with a bed, it is called rest.

I figured if I ever had a place big and fancy enough to warrant a name (fat chance), I'd just call it "Bird's Nest".

I'm of the impression that "Poor House" would be a suitable name for our abode!

Good one. I am sure I will be in the same boat some day.

We have a neat-looking cast aluminum painted oval plaque mounted on the front of our garage with the words: "Higher Ground" on it. We came from an area of Kalifornika that was at the 4500 foot level and we now live at about 1200-something, but we definitely regard this as: "Higher Ground". No, but I'll have my manservant look into it.
Re: Do you have a name for your land or house?
Did you think you wouldn't get all sorts of smart --- answers? We call our place "home".
Re: Do you have a name for your land or house?
We call or place "Eagles End" but this is really ranching country so most of my neighbors have ranches which are almost always named. Some in the area are
Javelina Canyon Ranch
Double U Ranch
Tombstone canyon ranch
The Allen Place

Yeah, I knew I was kind of asking for it. But you don't know if you don't ask. I just like the concept. I have been thinking about what to call my sprawling 13 acres, but haven't come up with anything yet.
OK, so I don't want any "smart" replies on what I should name my place.
That would be too easy a target for this crowd.
