Mushrooms!
OK, I have lots of mushrooms growing in my lawn. It's not a particularly wet area. And it also gets some sun.
Do you know of any products that would eliminate the mushrooms, and not be harmful to my two dogs?
My better half hates the sight of them and is tored of picking them out of the lawn every day.
Ideas? And I'm pretty sure they aren't ediblle, but I'll send samples if anyone wants to try them!

Re: Mushrooms!
Are these by any chance called " fairy circles " ?

Re: Mushrooms!
No. My understanding of Fairy Circles is the they are roughly circular, makes sense right, and gradually expand outward over time. These are just kind of random patched scattered around.

Gary, I'm not sure this will help much, but you might like to read this link.

Re: Mushrooms!
Thanks, Bird!
I read the article and it looks as though mechanical is the only way to go. It'll give my wife something to do in her spare time. There must be some kind of attachment I can buy for my JD that'll do the job.

Re: Mushrooms!
Gary, some years I had lots of those things and some years almost none. Last year was one of the years with an overabundant supply. I didn't exactly have a manicured lawn in the country, so I usually just kicked them out of the ground with the toe of my shoe, left them where they laid, and let the lawnmower chop'em up next time I mowed. Re: Mushrooms!
Well, that's what I tend to do too. But my wife is concerned that the dogs might decide that they're good to eat. Now I don't think they will do so, but sometimes our concerns are not subject to analysis are they?

Re: Mushrooms!
Gary, I never even thought about the possibility of a dog eating them. Never heard of such a thing, and of course we and our neighbors had dogs, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

True for most, if not all, of us at times,

Gary:
Never heard of a dog eating mushrooms but then my knowledge range is pretty small.

Re: Mushrooms!
I think this article is right on. I try not to bag my lawn cuttings - leaving them to mulch and of course there's a lazy factor. But when I have a lot of problems with mushrooms, I bag for a couple of weeks and this helps eliminate the mushrooms. I guess it starves them.
By the way, my bagged clippings go in the compost, not a landfill.
