Egon, The recirc loop runs from the hot water supply at the master bath shower to the gas fired DHW tank. The tank will be set for typical DHW temp for good dishwasher action. Probably 135-140F.
If the recirc was looped through the DHW tank in the basement (heated by the ground sourced heat pump) I'd bet it would work since there is several feet of head. Looped through the gas fired unit on the same floor as the shower there is very little head. I'm not too optimistic about the same floor setup.

Egon, Great stuff! I didn't know about the mountain thing and the cat's nose. I was aware of the Teutonic and Norse stuff and have seen the wolves head wind depictions, some in antique wood carvings.
