Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

mmm...I don't like the idea of a mercury switch in a potable well. I suppose most float switches are housed in plastic, but maybe a switch with a stainless steel housing would resist more pressure....

Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

Yea, I like the simplicity of float switches - I use one in the attic tank to get the water from the well. BUT is there a float switch (or something similar) that could be lowered to about 20 meters...

Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

The thing is at the moment I just use a gravity storage tank in the attic, with float switch and overflow pipe. This system works well, though I suppose it's not compatible for using with a pressure...

Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

I think the main problem with a float switch would be that at a depth of 20 meters, it would probably get squashed by the water pressure. Actually I don't know how deep float switches can be lowered...

Re: Water pressure switch to protect well pump?

I can buy something similar here (Fanox CBM2) in Spain for about $270 - anyway I suppose shipping from USA could take ages.

Hi, my well pump is about 25 meters from the surface in a 60 meter well, but I don't have any system of protection for dry run. The pump is approx 1 hp (can't confirm because the label on pump is...

Re: Type of pump for 60 meter well?

I assume I would need to analyse the water to see if it is dirinkable. Yes I have a floating switch in the attic tank plus an overflow pipe going out through the exterior wall..just in case......

Re: Type of pump for 60 meter well?

Well for the moment I was just thinking of a normal water tank in the attic to gravity feed to faucets. I'm wondering what kind of pump would be best to use? Thank you
