    Re: Cattle are sold how?

Went to a goat auction just recently. They kept changing the method of sale so often, sometimes on the same group, I was certainly confused. I believe I'll need to go to a few more before I'll do...

    Re: What\'s this? Ozark Apple?

Planted close together (real close) they will make a living fence for cattle. Mash them up, add a little water to make a slurry, pour it along a fence row. In 3-5 years you wont have to worry about...

We used a pneumatic framing nailer to tack stuff in place and to put on the purlins (horizontal). However on places that would have a lot of stress, such as the headers that hold the trusses up, we...

Re: Cover crop to plant NOW

I second Pat's advice about just rolling out some round bales to anchor the dirt for erosion protection. Also undoubtedly some seeds will shake out of the hay onto the ground...and if you should get...

Re: What to do with old Christmas Tree Farm

Just a random thought but from the description they would seem to be fairly large. Could you maybe send a flyer to some of the large landscapers. Perhaps they would want them as semi-mature trees...

    Re: pole barn girt nails

I built a 24 x 48' pole barn last year used ring shank nails about 3 ½" long they seemed to hold real well. Hadn't planned on it but ended up making my own trusses as well. Google the lay...

    Re: Laying hens

As far as I know, all of the night roosting birds are just pretty much blind at night. Owls and waterfowl not being "roosters" /forums/images/icons/smile.gif seem to fly at night OK.
