    I live not to far from you in SE NH. We burn 5 to 6 cords a year in two woodstoves. We just replaced the downstairs one with a Sweetheart wood cookstove. So wood consumption may go down....

    It is around a 40:1 ratio. So 40 gallons of sap boils down to 1 gallon of syrup. We never considered it work though! More like family time. At the end of the day we walked through the woods...

    When we lived in PA and then MD we had rabbits in hutches outside. We stapled plastic to the outside to keep the wind off and let them stay out all winter. Winters aren't as harsh as up here...
