The problem you run into is that I don't think it's really legal to use a box that won't break-away when hit by a car.

I have also learned from an arborist, that you should wrap the tree with burlap or other wrapping material. Transporting unwrapped trees causes wind burn which can kill the tree.
The only problem might be the nitrogen. Woodchips consume all of the nitrogen as they break down. You might want to throw down some bone meal to keep things even.
It all depends on how much work you have. I chose not to buy a powered pole saw. I bought a Silky Hayauchi that extends to 21 feet. Great blade design and cuts like butter. I just finished a...
I found that it was very helpful to write a formal business plan, even though I was not going to be borrowing money to start the operation. The plan helped me think through all of the issues, risks,...
I've also been wondering if anyone has used one of these outfits. There is a guy on eBay called Battery Pack Rebuilders LLC that advertises for about the same price. I have a Porter Cable 12-volt...

The F-150 crew cab is not offered in lower trim options as it is aimed at yuppie larva, hair dressers, and telephone sanitizers,...
Thanks, Gary. Flushing the pressure tank is a great idea. That pump is down there on steel pipe and I don't even want to think about what it's going to take to get it out of there.
I've been thinking of putting in a whole house filter also. Whenever the pump goes out, we have brown cloudy water for a day or two and then it goes back to clear. I'm not sure if the sediment is...
But my arms get awful tired holding my heavy chain saw up over my head to reach those branches at 15 feet /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
I have a woodlot and there is no doubt that pruning has some significant advantages. This year I am participating in a state Forest Stand Improvement project, where they pay me to prune some of my...
I have a bread machine, but never bake the bread in it. I use it to make the dough, which I then transfer to a metal bread pan. Works great for me. I also make dough for danish and pecan rolls,...
I did tighten it... but I did pay attention to where it was. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif Actually, there's a strap between the two cinches which keeps the rear cinch pulled forward.
I was having the same problem with my quarter horse. He does not have a very prominent withers, so I would find the saddle moving around, even after retightening the cinch. My western saddle has...
Sorry for your loss, Byron. One of things I've done is to find a great photo of the pet and myself, put it in a nice frame, and park it somewhere that is in my path every day. For a few minutes, I...
Thomas, Welcome to CBN! You'll find a lot of good folks in this forum.
I lived in Londonderry for 25 years before moving north to get further away from civilization. ...
If the horse manure is mixed with wood shavings, it would need to be composted also. The wood shavings consume most of the nitrogen when they decompose.
If you want some, I have plenty that you...
I must have slept through that class in college. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Me, too. I'm pretty sure they are related to the critters that either steal all of my clothes hangers - except for the times that...
We have a 200 year-old house and we have this problem every winter. I'm sure these critters have been coming into the house for many generations. I have caught them a few times. I occasionally...
I have a 30 KVA generator that runs for about an hour every saturday at noon, without load, to keep the battery charged. It's been doing that since it was installed by the previous owner in '84. I...
If you do any traveling as a family, I would suggest looking at a Ford Excursion. More than 50% of the Excursions were sold with a diesel motor which gets 18-20 mpg. It has plenty of capacity for a...
I bought a 26-ton unit on EBay. It was a one-year old Yard Machines (MTD) unit and I only paid about $800 for it. The big box stores sell it for around $1400. Last year I cut, split, and delivered...
There are many magazines out there and most focus on a particular type of horse activity. We are just pleasure riders and don't do shows or other events. We've subscribed to both Horse & Rider and ...
