There was some talk on TBN forum about a straw based mat that they laid down while seeding a steep bank. You could do a search and pull it up. The reports said it worked great.

I sawed up some Maple about 2 weeks after it was dropped, stickered it right away with 1 year old stickers, and still got sticker stain lines running accross it, dam.

Saw a roccoon walking across the front yard and climb up & into a big maple at the road. I thought they don't come out during the day and if so it was a sign of rabies. I really would not like them...
