    Re: Hay costs and availablity

I just paid 5.50 a bale for 200 small square bales of horse quality timothy hay. This is from the first cutting. The farmer we buy from says he's not sure he'll get a second cutting since he had to...

    Re: Law in Cochise County

It sounds like law enforcement has gotten a little tougher since I was in the service at Fort Huachuca.

Then again, even in my younger years, I was smart enough not to go asking for trouble with...

    Re: Power for Barn??

I'm not sure of your circumstances. Is the barn close enough to run a subpanel from the house? That would at least save the monthly charge.

I had a 475 foot run of water and power done last year...

I don't have much info to share. You could read this forum thread I found to see if the enhancer they discuss would possibly work for you.

    Re: Grout color

A friend of mine had a problem with his grout where the color was noticably different between the separate bags of grout mix he purchased.

When he asked about what he should do, the store told him...

    Re: Protecting the Mailbox

When we built our place in a somewhat remote location off a dirt/gravel road, I didn't initially notice the neighbor had a very heavy duty welded mailbox that they obviously had made for the same...
  7. Re: First post: Can anyone identify this shrub/tree?

I have quite a bit of invasive honeysuckle on my place. I've been trying to slowly get it under control, but there are hundreds of plants of various sizes.

I'd make sure it's native or you will...

    Re: hydrant

I just took a look at one of mine this evening, and it looks identical to yours. It's only a couple years old (which hopefully means there are parts still out there), but now I really wish I kept...

Re: OSB needed under metal roof on pole barn?

Our barn (built last year) has a metal roof with the silver backed insulation between the metal roof and the purlins.

We've had no problems at all with condensation with the roof built like this. ...

    Re: Invasive Plants

I know you are right, but it really burns me that just a little property maintenance years ago keeps these plants from getting out of control.

I know I won't be here forever, and I feel obligated...

    Invasive Plants

I bought property several years ago, and have been slowing learning about and battling invasive plants (as well as the well-loved native poison ivy, and a few others).

    Between the multiflora rose,...

    Re: Loan Options Land >35%

I'm not sure what the loan is for? If it's for building a home it should be doable.

I purchased property and built a house a few years ago where the land value was somewhat greater than 35% of the...
