I am still looking to be sure I get the right size solar panel. They are so expensive, that I want to be sure I get the right one. This is supposed to be partially a toy/hobby, so I have to be...
Thanks for the response. I am looking into this more and more today. I am leaning more towads LEDs right now. About as efficient as you can get.
A 65watt incandescent bulb would be PLENTY of...
I looked at home depot and all I saw there was the small landscape lighting lights, and I think one small motion sensor type that would be used next to the front door of a house kind of thing.
I am hoping to get a solar flood light... does anyone have one already and do you like it? How long does the light last?
This is going up on a horse shelter like 300ft from the house. And I dont...
The bubble thing is great in a place where it doesnt get that cold and that the ice can melt off in the warm afternoon sun.
Wont work somewhere like here in MI. Will definatly freeze right over...
Heating water, especailly 100 gallons, requires a LOT of electricity. And the amount of solor cells requted to charge the amount of batteries... is much more than most people would ever want to...
I am looking to bring the temp up in a single room, the living room. Just for a coupe hours at a time, but probably the whole weekend long. I dont want to do a wood stove because the piping outside...
Strange, I havent seen one that is not vented. They are all using what I believe is class B pipe. Same as a gas dryer vent. And they only need to be run outside, not up to the roofline, just as a...
I searched and was surprised to not find anything on here about them. I am just looking for personal experiences and advice about them.
Anyone?
Thanks
Ken H.
Those **** birds never leave anymore. They are year round in Michigan now. And they are everywhere. Over weekends parking lots gets slick because of all the goose poop. They have become a PITA. ...
Quit looking. Just going to take ideas from a few plans that I saw. But, really just going to do it on my own.
Ken H.
Not really that I need it. More just like to see what other people have done. And what worked. I am not a horse person... yet. And wood working... never touched it.
I am more a automotive type...
Cant believe I cant find some simple run in shed plans somewhere on the itnerent. That doent cost $50 and are way more complicated than what I want.
Does my lazy butt actually have to draw them...
Well, I know that it is from lack of rain. We have had very dry seasons the past couple years. In my area, all you have to do is dig a hole deep enough and you get a pond....
Yes. Very true. I used the wrong words in my post. The tile/leech field is where the problem comes up. The lint will eventually start to plug the 'holes' where the 'water' goes out.
Thanks...
Lint is no good for the septic system. It will take time to accumulate, but its not good.

Not sure. I can tell because you can see on the shore where the water was before. Looks like the tide went out and never came back in.

Our dogs (3) and our friends dogs (5-6 I forgot) dine on horse manure all the time. Not sure what they treat their horses with though. I will try to find out. Oh, and both my wife and our friend...
Our water table has dropped and dropped the past 2 or so years. Down about 3-4 feet.
Anyone else like that?
I just want my pond to come back... its too little now.
Thanks
Ken H.
Our house does not have a laundry wash tub. And there is no room to put one in. So, all the water goes directly from the washer to the septic. On my previous house, I used a plain lint trap to...
Thanks again!

My neck of the woods, everyone I talk to says dirt floor. Definately not concrete. So, that is what we are going to go with.

Sorry to be nieve, but what is to harrow?
And what kind of fertalizer to use that wont hurt the horses?
My wife probably knows this stuff already, but it is going to be nice to sound like I know...
I know its simple, but anyone have any plans for run-in sheds? 3 sided horse structure?
Thanks,
Ken H.
Well... too late to burn it.
I guess I will just cut it shorter and see what comes up throughout the summer.
Thanks
