    Re: septic tank

Brimfield, a metal detector also works. The lids have metal re-bar in them that show up well on a metal detector.

If all else fails, the person who will pump the tank can usually find it easily...

Re: The Body as a Tool

This is amazing that there is more than one of suffering from a similar problem.

I went in to have my old tool checked today as I ain't been "up to snuff" for about a week. Turns out my large...

    Re: Irrigation from a pond

Speedbump, why a jet pump instead of a submersible pump? I have a similar situation and was thinking of a submersible. Is one better than the other?

    Re: porch roof

You might want to look into the metal roofs for decks. I did one several years ago. It was 12 x 36 and went up in one weekend. One side attached to the house and the other to metal poles that sit...

    Re: Computer sound files

Leef, 35 - 38 minutes of a sermon will make a very large wav file. I have a 12 minute recording that is 128 meg, so your 35 - 38 minute file would be roughly 3 times as large, which even with a...

Re: Right Tools for the Job

After the trees are piled up, the skidder grabs a few and drags them to the loader where they are cut to length and loaded onto a truck and taken to the mill.

This is the skidder in action.

Re: Right Tools for the Job

Once the tree has been cut, the cutter picks the tree straight up. The operator can then drive around with the tree. He puts them into a pile for the skidder to take them to the loader.

This is the cutter in action. It is driven up to a tree, and the arms surround the tree and pull the cutting blade into the tree. For large trees (anything over 24 inches) they cut from the back,...
