Re: HELP-garden tracor gets stuck alot-need posi

Had a similar traction problem mowing my hillside place. Finally got some Ag-type tires at Tractor supply.

They do tear up the lawn if you spin, but it grows back! I have even mowed in standing...

Re: old silo, what to do

Creative idea to build a house in a silo, but also like building a house in a chimney. Fire danger is much greater so plan accordingly and especially have good escape routes.

    Re: FireStarters

Not very pure, but I just save all those little odds and ends of waste from using the tablesaw and cut them up into small pieces about 5" long by 1" wide. To start a fire, I dip them into a little...

Re: Metal roofs-how to repair holes in them

If the holes are all in the tops of the ribs, the tin probably started its life on a different roof and those are just old nail holes. If that is the case, the roof might have a lot of years left...

Can't get meat much cheaper than just buying a lot of chuck in the fall when it goes on sale in the supermarket. You can grind it, roast it or cut it up into steaks. Tougher than t-bone, but has...

Re: 57 Dodge fired up today!

Fixed my cold feet when working at my workbench with a rubber floormat that plugs in and gets warm. Think office stores or tool shops might have them.

Went a few years ago - well worth the experience. Expect a big crowd and know what things are worth - some were huge bargains and others would end up costing more than new after you bought all the...

    Re: Robbing bees

Alfalfa and Mesquite honey - the best! Used to get that in Arizona. Pure mesquite honey is dark and strong, so the hives on the edge between desert and farm had the best ever!

Re: Sewing machine for horse blankets?

You might get away with this for heavy fabric, but not leather:

Look for an old Singer sewing machine (mine is 1942 and $20 from a garage sale). Those have steel gears and hold up to heavy loads...

Just saw an article in the Sierra Vista newspaper about a guy who had a golden barrel cactus swiped right from his front yard. Gone in 60 seconds -- More like 15 seconds!

How about fixing the toilet so that it leaks a little, constantly running a little bit of water into the tank and into the bowl and then out. Will keep it from freezing and can't get more low...

Got a Lopi brand fireplace insert last year and used it all winter. This year I cleaned the stainless steel chimney liner with one of those brushes from Lowes. Instead of soot, I knocked loose a...

    Re: value of timber

Don' t know much about lumber grades. My (20 X 40 foot) garage is reverse board and batten so asked for 1x12 and 1x4 pine ten feet long. I actually got boards from 1 to 1-1/4 inch thick and a...
