There is a device called the Electronic Scarecrow www.scatmat.com about $79. hook up a hose and motion or infrared sets off a jet of water. I got it in my garden and not a leaf was eaten by the herds of deer and rabbits. My neighbor's lawn tractor at 100' away sets off the infrared sensor due to the engine heat.
