    Bing Cherries

I planted three Bing Cherry trees about three years ago. The trees have not produced fruit. They are about eight feet tall. I have sprayed them with Ortho Home Orchard spray. The leaves always fall off during August or September. The bark peels off and the trees have lots of sap oozing down the major branches. Any thoughts?

Your trees probably have a virus or bacterial infection. Is there a black growth around the area which is oozing? If there is next spring (May or early June) you can try cutting them out along with the bark around it and any diseased wood underneath them.

There are several websites with fruit tree disease and treatment information you might want to check. Penn State and West Virginia both have a lot of information.
