Re: Wainscoting?

an alternative to a smaller planer is s larger drum sander. Wish I'd known that before I invested .... hard to justify having boh in a home workshop. The planers go thru blades, can be a bear to keep adjusted properly, and don't necessarily give you a finished surface ... you usually have to sand anyway. The drum sander will do all the work that the planer will do, plus give you a finished surface.
But .... they do take up some serious space.
it's a shame that common sense isn't

I just mentioned to my wife when I got home that all this tool talk has got my juices flowing again, to get back into woodworking, making stuff for our new house

Hank, You've got the easy part done, the experience & expertise. Now for the hard part.... Getting approval for the equipment purchases.

I think my next power tool purchase will be a router. It's got to be something small

I can't do without my router. I'm replacing some doors and the router is invaluable for hinge mortising.
