Does anyone have any experience with this type of humidifier that goes in the ductwork of the heating system? Lowes has the TM2000 for $90. It looks like a good way to go, easy to install and cheap to operate.

No experience with it but could predict that the pressure drop point in the nozzles will precipitate dissolved minerals and plug up over time. Fortunetly these minerals would be easily disolved in an weak acid.

I've always used them. We have a Lobb and it works great. Yes they can clog up after time. But I clean thme once a year and replace the filter when needed.
Quite a bit quieter and easier to deal with than the free standing floor models (ooops, forgot to fill it,, etc. etc.)
Basic plumbing, electrical, and ductwork skills(you can cut a couple of holes) and the install goes fine.
Good luck
