Step Pulleys

I'm fixing a small wood lathe for my son and am having a tough time finding a pair of 3 or 4 step step pulleys to mount on the motor and lathe. I've been to every hardware store in the area as well as the farm stores and even a fab shop. Any ideas on where to find the pulleys?

Both the motor and lathe spindle are 1/2" diameter.

Hardware stores are not what they used to be, that's for sure.
