Sure........but we usually use Folgers Singles in the microwave. Plop the "coffee bag" in the mug of water and 1-2 mins later, hot coffee.
Same with instant, I'd say. My Dad always did. Heat the water and put the coffee in then.
Had some country style ribs and precooked them for 5-10 mins then baked them for an hour at 350 degrees (put sliced up onions on top with a little sauce)

Good recipe, Maggie. We just tried it a couple of days ago. Of course, like most cooks, I suppose, my wife slightly modified it by cooking and boning the chicken first, then added a can of chopped mushrooms. Right tasty!
I drink those Folgers singles...I heat the water in a tea kettle..I am the only one in my home that drinks coffee...so they work fine for me,good coffee.In 1994 we had a major snow and the power was out for a week....I was using a plumbers torch to heat my coffee....
