Yet another view...
Yet another view...
"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
...and another...
"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
A rack to hold the cue sticks. Also of ERC.
"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
A different perspective on the cue rack showing more context, including the family coat of arms.
"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
But what about the Atmosphere Pat?
Dim fly speckled lights with rays shimmering through wafting clouds of smoke making a feeble attempt to dispenses the table shadows. Spittoons well filled and often missed. Floor covered in old cigar and cigarette butts.

Different strokes for different folks. Our house is a tobacco free zone. The room with the pool table is carpeted. We have whole house filtered fresh air distribution. If we had a cuspidor my wife would polish it and put it in her tea room as a collectible to be displayed.
Those nostalgic days of yore you so aptly tickle the memories of are long past and lost to me especially so far as trying to recreate them.

"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
But but the reality. There is no reality today!

I'm sorry, old sport, to have to be the one to break it to you but it is the NEW reality and the old reality is what is often referred to nostalgically as "the good ole days" or "in the day" or "back when" or something similar.
Like song lyrics, "those days are gone my friend, we thought they'd never end."
Times they are a changin'
Under the spreading chestnut tree
the village smithy sings
he isn't shoeing horses now
he's fitting piston rings.

"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
So true unfortunately.
Mary Travers passed over and now I,m wondering
"Where have all the flowers gone"
Egon
Egon,
but which one are you in the picture? Those were MUCH simpler days. Don't see anyone with Ipods in their ears or texting on their cell phones.
ps,
Pat, noticed the shutter pix above. Question: (don't know if you answered it previously in the 22 pages of thread) Why did you put the shutters on the inside? Is that the preferred way for tornado protection? Seems to me, being on the outside is historically how they were used and it would prevent damage to glass, curtains, window frame in the event of a tornado. (Although I do understand that surviving a tornado with life intact is obviously more important).
