This is exactly why I threw it in your direction. I was reasonably sure you had thoroughly (over)researched the topic. Yes, this HVAC guys opinions did counter most of what I've read about the subject. Another reason to start piecing everything together early. The other hurdle for me is whether to use an "indirect" or "open direct" system. Thanks for the thoughts and info.

dummy, The lads over at the Radiant Panel Association forum will offer some good advice and it is worth reading over there and asking any remaining Q's. They are a good bunch and several of them are top notch.

Here is pix of front as brick is being finished...

I have learned to enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling you get when it all starts to come together!

Do you have an estimated completion date yet?

    Very impressive Pat.

It's what is underneath the wrapping that's exspecially intriquing.

    Thanks Egon and Waldo.

No completon date yet. It will take as long as it takes. I will move in before winter!!! $ pile is getting real short so contractor support will be winding up fairly soon. Our goal has been (and remains) to finish the master suite, living, dining, office, entry, hall bath, and util room completely professionally (contractor help) and then to finish the basement and upstairs with most input from us. I have decided to have all the insulation and drywall (including taping and bedding) done by sub and the painting of the above mentioned spaces.

I can paint the rest, trim it with wood and etc. I have a lot of dirt work for my little Kubota too. I am having all the garage and shop done with 5/8 drywall for better fire resistance as well as selected areas in other places. I didn't fancy drywalling over 25 ft above the great room floor.

I have a couple gravity walls to do (stacked retaining walls) and a jillion details. I will be kept out of bars, off the streets, and away from strange women for some time to come.

Pat ; be brave and do the drywalling and taping yourself. Gives for a great opportunity to increase the non usable side of your vocabulary.
