    Okay.........

    Ah'm gonna stick mah neck out here.... I've been in the water treatment industry since 1976, with a primary focus on water purification (NOT softening) - but we use softeners as part of the pretreatment.

    For MY money, Fleck is the ONLY way to go - a simple, time-based unit that'll last 20 years. Either the 5600 (plastic) or the 2750 (brass) would be my choice. We just moved, and left my "old" 5600 (circa 1981) in the old house, and went with the 2750 in the new house, primarily to allow for higher flows.

    Either unit can be overhauled in the field in about an hour or less....

    what is the difference in the unit you mentioned and the unit i spoke about?
