I'm looking at two stick welders - The Lincoln AC/DC 225 and a Hobart Stickmate XL (AC/DC 225 amps also). I've used the Lincoln and it was OK, but have never used a Hobart machine.
The Hobart is ~$100 less. Does anyone have experience with the Hobart? How do they hold up under light use.?

The heavier the transformer the more copper it has and the better it will hold up. Our first AC welder took three guys to set it in the back of a pickup, but it could go hour after hour with no problem. [img]/forums/images/icons/tongue.gif[/img]
