The pre cast concrete foundations are not used much in my area, poured walls are the norm, so my only experience is a neighbor near our weekend home. Their log home, with garage under, was set on the pre cast units and it sure does go up fast. They also had some pretty good cracks, close to 1/2 inch, develop where the garage door header joins the foundation wall almost immediately. The company told them it was no big deal and came and filled the cracks with mortar. It may not be a big deal but I sure would not want to see that on my new house and I have not seen that on any of the pour wall foundation I have work on.
