    Asparagus

I just finished up planting my asparagus bed with two kinds - Jersey Knight Super Male and a Purple type. While driving home the other day I've noticed some wild asparagus growning along the road so I've transplanted about a dozen wild plants to the beds as well.

Will the transplanted wild plants be detrimental to the ones I got from the nursery.

You may find the wild ones drop berries which produce seedlings that need to be occasionally weeded. As you probably know, newer strains like Jersey and UC57 are primarily male, producing larger shoots and fewer females (and thus fewer berries). Otherwise, I don't think the wild ones will be detrimental.
