My meadow is seven acres on a slope. Between the upper half and the lower half is the only fairly flat ground on my 155 acre property. Unfortunately, this is also the wettest spot on the property (not including the pond), and the ground there is also clayish, which tends to hold the water.
What are some options to improve the drainage of water from this spot?

Pete, if the water isn't from the drainage of higher slopes, than you probably have a spring there. We're doing some renovations on our house, and we had to re-grade our driveways to get the bulldozer and excavator up to the house. Our back driveway was always very wet. Well, the excavator discovered a spring right in the middle of it. When he removed the top layer of soil, water came bubbling up like he hit a pipe. He put in a line of drainage tiles leading to a pvc pipe, and the spring now flows into our creek, and the driveway is nice and dry. You may have a similar situation.
