Stump Grinder

I live near Atlanta, GA. Does anyone have any idea what is the charge for stump grinding? Is it by the inch of diameter, or more of a fixed cost, with sizing thrown in? Bryce

In the St. Louis Missouri area I can rent a self propelled Vermeer stump grinder for about $80 a day. When I say self propelled I mean it moves itself around the property, not that you drive it from the rental center!

With a little instruction anyone can run it. Why not do it yourself?

Bryce, I am also in Atlanta and I believe you will find that the price varies depending on volume. If you have one or two stumps you want out size may come into play also. I had a friend west of Atlanta that lost most of his pine trees to pine beetles and had over 100 stumps to remove. He was paying $20 per stump, regardless of size, with a 50-stump minimum for the guy he used. My buddy is not much on research so I don't know if that is a good price or not.
