Aerial views of your land

This website: http://www.terrafly.com will provide you with an aerial view of any address or geographic coordinates you plug in. Its great for getting a birds eye view of your land and your general neighborhood. Sometimes you'll find that the images are several years old, but its still a real neat site and a great way to gain another perspective on your property.

It is neat but, as you said, they are dated (at least mine were). I don't know if it's from the same source, but you can get aerial views of any address through www.mapquest.com also. Those weren't current either. If it's not the same source, it might be worth looking at each to see if one is more current than the other. On my PC, at least, the Mapquest deal was WAY faster. You can get the same kind of thing from MapQuest - just enter your address and when it comes up click on the "Aerial Image". The images are different, I think (at least they are for my place).

    It is definately cool.

Just when I found my land, I got cut off (using terrafly). The message said I had used up all of my flight time. Terraserver-usa.com has the same images (I think) and has unlimited free use.

Mapquest has the newest images -- and you never get "kicked off"

Ok here is one that my wife took this spring. I will outline it for you. It totals 32 acres, has 2 spring fed ponds, round pond 10' deep leading to larger pond at 18' deep, each has an abudant supply of trout. Since this shot we have installed a fence on one side and a driveway up to the larger pond. I currently cut 7 acres of grass there. No house yet.

With your profile showing no information, how are we supposed to know where this is located? Is it California, Maryland, Illinois, Australia, France?

    Thanks!

It looks like you have rows of trees planted -- do you have a tree farm?
