Fish Tape

Which brand of fish tape would you consider to be of very good quality?
I need to purchase one in the very near future.
Thanks,

I have a 'G-F' or 'G-B' brand (red with black handle) and highly recommend you get yourself something ELSE.

Ideal or Klein is all I ever used, with any satisfaction.

I agree with the inspector.

GB in general is not the highest quality IMHO.

I have an older Ideal that has been down A LOT of dark conduit tunnels. I also have a later model Klein and my big guy is a mystery since I bought it at auction and all it is is a big open roll.

I've seen some of the new ones that have a LED light built into the end. I guess it's so you can see where it's going, or coming. I believe it had a green case. Would that be Klein? I know it wasn't Gardner Bender (GB).

The green cased ones are probably made by Greenlee, another quality brand.

Hey inspector!

The electrician working on my new house normally does industrial work. All the Romex is run in nice parallel lines and well stapled down. I've never seen such a nice job before. And all the wires hanging from the boxes are labeled.

Do you give "extra credit" for neat work?

GaryM,
Makes me look at the job with a little less scrutiny

Inspector; I just wish you could see my new grainery-to-all-weather-shop conversion project. Not only is everything in EMT, but I take forever to first plan where the EMT will go, and then make sure that the bend matches the one next to it and so forth. No farm building that I know of has anything like this. My house is kind of the same way. but with all non-metallic conduit. Looking overhead in my basement is like looking at the inside of a nuclear submarine.
