    citrus

I have just had 900 orange trees mechanically hedge leaving the trunks exposed to the sun. I need to paint or white wash them. what is the best way to do this and can you mix paint and lime together to make a better cheap mix.

Everything I've read says to use flat latex paint, dilute it with water in a 50/50 mix. Use white or light brown paint. A little bit goes a long way, and it's easy to apply. Best of luck.

Agree with Jonathan. We use a 50/50 mix of flat latex white on citrus and avocado trees. Coat the trunk with enough to reflect sun and keep temperature down, but not too much or it could limit their ability to breathe.
