Inspector,
Or others that are as good as HE with electricity. I GOT ZAPPED Im hooking up a exhaust fan in my greenhouse and it bit me. Im useing 110 volts. Attached is a picture of the wireing diagram plate cover. When i got zapped there wasnt even live power to it. I was using a regular fan plug to try and figure it out. The plug only has 3 wires. White black and a ground just like the 110 12-2 wire i want to supply it with. I didnt even have it plugged it whan i nailed me. There must be storage capasitors in it or something cause it bit hard Please help Inspector!
Thanks in advance, Larry
Yes i need help with 110. I want to use a simple on off thermostat from durostat. There is just so many wires in the dang thing. I attached a diagram off the plate did you see it?
Thanks Inspector
Im actually scared of the dang thing now. I used a tester and found the wires that were hot in it after i messed with it. My tester went out now so is the power all gone in it now?
OK Larry,
According to the diagram, here's what I see you need to do for 110V.
1)Connect the purple wire to one side of your feed in
2)Connect Black-White-Yellow to the other side of your feed in
3)Connect Orange-Brown-Red together with a "wire-nut"
4)Connect the ground to the hopefully green screw
If it runs the wrong way, swap the red and the black
Do I have you confused yet?
So:
1) Purple goes to Black (hot)
2) Black, white and yellow to neutral (white)
If so i think i got it.
I will try this Inspector.
Thanks so much...i hope it works. Its the only stumper so far with my electric in this project and the electric is almost done!
Larry,
The label on the motor housing did not make a distinction between which one needs to be hot and which one neutral, but you should to be good to go.
