    Canning and vacuuming

    Ladies and Gentleman,

I am planing to move to countryside as soon as posible. As I searched the web pages of the stores that handle country life supplies, a year ago I came across a simple black and white page that had exactly what a simple old-fashioned lifestyile needed; old lamps, a hand mill, and lot of old fashioned tools for kitchen. Since I had a computer crash (I lost all bookmarked pages), I can not find a page...Any idea about the web page?
My main question is this: I saw some simple tools for canning/vacuuming that looked like "O" with a handle. Since I never saw something like that, I would like to ask you what is the name of that kitchen tool, and how does it work.
Thank you very much for your answers.
    Many greetings from Europe,

It may have been a juice squeezer if the exterior had small holes in it.

Welcome to Country by Net. Lot's of good information here.

Could it have been a set of tongs for lifting jars out of the water bath? Or maybe this: http://www.lehmans.com/shopping/prod...ProductID=3783
