Suggestion needed...

I'm getting ready to remove a love seat from in front of the front windows in the livingroom. How ever I have a Boston and he likes to curl up and sleep in front of it on the top of the sofa.

What I'm wanting to do is build some type of bench with a pillow top, something elavated so the dog can sleep off the floor and see out the window as well as enjoy a little sunshine.

Any Ideas ?

I've seen dog beds made with PVC pipe and fittings. A rectangular frame standing on PVC legs. Then a canvas or other material attached and a pillow on top of that. Pipe can be sized to match the size of the dog.

I plan on making on for my 65 Lb. dog using 1 1/2" or 2" PVC pipe. For a Boston that weighs what? 20 Lbs? Smaller pipe would be fine.

I bought a window-bed from Pet Smart. It attaches to the sill and rests against the wall under the window. 3 of my cats have been asleep in it at one time!
It has a plastic frame and a soft cloth "shelf".
I think it was around 25 - 30 dollars.
