I'm not sure what all the numbers mean, I just called them to verify and got frustrated with their voice (mis) management system. My guess is the $3.83 is the sale price per foot.
None the less, I got a 25 foot link, slapped a slip hook on one end and a choker on the other end. There is absolutely no concerns in my mind about it grabbing and holding once it's tightened up on a log.
I once even wrapped the chain around the ENTIRE front end of a car to lift the car up and drag it out of the woods. The chain simply tightened & bit right in.
Have also used to help pull full sized industrial backhoe out of mucky situations. (chain around tree & attached to backhoe then pulled)
I decided to get this chain after I snapped my uncles 3/8 chain under similar conditions (of yanking backhoe out of mucky situation).
"so far", this one has shown no signs of flinching.
