Anybody have a website, advice, suggestions, etc. on what to charge for various small landscaping jobs? A friend of mine who is extremely knowledgeable concerning the layout, planting, trimming, etc. of bushes, plants, evergreens, and the like would to take on small jobs. However he does not know what to charge. He's done a few jobs for neighbors and the work look fabulous. The problem that I see is that they take advantage of him. He's very kind to everyone and because of that he is reluctant to "jack" up the price. He'll purchase plants, etc. for a customer and charge them what he pays. He doesn't even ask for gas money, just a few bucks for planting them. He told me of one job where he charged $700 for everything and then found out that the owner had a previous estimate of $3,000. Like I said he is most kind and does a beautiful job but he now is starting to feel used and needs to decide what to charge that is more in line with what is fair. Thank you in advance for your help.
