killing poison ivy with extreme prejudice!

Thanx to everyone who helped with my fenceline weeding. I am winning that battle

Now for the next thing to kill, poison ivy. I have some land that I am slowly turning into pasture. I have huge trees that I really like to keep. Well, they are crawling with poison ivy. I took a chainsaw and cut the vines at the bottom of the tree. Well, now they are growing up the tree again. Since the leaves are low enough now that I can spray them. Is Roundup strong enough to kill these vines or do I need something even stronger? How do you guys handle this problem?

    thanx

I've killed some with Round-Up; seemed to work OK.

I'd use crossbow if you have any grass around. The crossbow will knock out the poison ivy and preserve any grass you have. If you don't have any grass around use the round-up.

Thanx for all the replies! I will stick with Roundup. Crossbow looks interesting. Goats would force me to change fencing
