Looking for books or websites on Timberframing.

    Hello,

I'm planning on building a medium sized barn with the native timber on my property (mostly Maple, Popler, Birtch and some oak). Something around 40' X 60'. My goal is to recreate a timberframed barn of the late 1800's with standard pitch roof (non gabrel).

I'm looking for "how-to" websites and books. I'm not interested in companies that do this for you since I plan on building this barn myself (with some help of a few friends). I have heavy equipment and a sawmill.

I'm no stranger to building large buildings as I had completed a "pole barn" style shop/garage. two years ago, and I'm really pleased with the results.

So, any help in getting started on this little adventure would be much apprciated. Thoughts, ideas and would like to talk to people that have done the same.

    Thanks,
