Special Low Voltage Plugs and Receptacles

My wife and I are currently building a small house near Larkspur, Colorado, and are having trouble finding UL approved low voltage plugs and receptacle.

We have discovered that automotive-type plugs are NOT acceptable to the county.

Here is a photo of a "V" type UL approved plug that came with my generator (Generac/Briggs & Stratton), but they will not tell me where the plugs and receptacles on the generator came from, saying that that information is 'proprietary'.

The word Apollo is stamped on the plug. I think this type of plug is a standard in Australia, but find it amazing that Generac won't tell me. They must think I'll compete with them for business or some other foolishness.

    Thanks!

Search for UL 1838, this is the standard for low voltage lighting. Also ask Low Voltage Forum
