Egon, OK just for you, our favorite Canadian, I'll explain. You see there is this activity called "bathing" which although it can be accomplished in cold water seems to be enjoyed much more by the majority of its practitioners when conducted in hot water. As strange as it may seem to the uninitiated, there are hoards of folks who do this "bathing" and predominately prefer it to be done in conjunction with copious quantities of hot water. Beyond the consumption of hot water and the joy thereby produced there is a negative, detracting effect, whenever the user has to wait too long to receive the hot water. Hence the efforts to engineer means of reducing the wait (and waste) that can be associated with getting hot water to the bathing location.
I realize that much of this may be unfamiliar to you, especially the part about water flowing in pipes inside a house but trust me, people do this a lot.
