    fruit tree ?

i'm looking to plant some fruit trees. probably some apples and also some blueberries. some type that is pretty hardy to withstand the long cold new england winters. i recently got a stark bros catalog and was thinking of purchasing from them. i was wondering if anyone else has used them. as i don't think there are any good fruit tree nurseries in my area to purchase from. thanks for any info.

Take a look at this website: http://www.sln.potsdam.ny.us/ for info on cold weather varieties. St. Lawrence Nursery specializes in fruit trees and berries for colder climates.

My wife has bought numerous fruit trees from stark brothers over the years. She conciders them to be the best to buy from due to excellent quality trees and a one year replacement warrenty if the tree dies.

You might also want to have a look at http://www.ediblelandscaping.com/. I haven't purchased from them, but I've used the site for research. My parents have purchased from Stark Bros on several occasions, with mixed initial success. They seem to be pretty responsive though. Don't mess with HenryField's. They were in financial trouble a few years back and I don't know if they've recovered.

    Good luck
