    Rototillers

Are the Yard Machine brand of tillers any good? Saw a rear tine 14 inch 6.5 hp machine for $549.00. Had beefy ag tires and looked well built, almost looked like a Troy Bilt.

Can't tell you anything about Yard Machine, but TroyBuilt is owned by MTD as of a while back. So I don't know how their quality is anymore. So it might not be a good comparison.

Thanks. That might explain why the Yard Machines tiller looks so much like a Troy Bilt,MTD also owns Yard Machines! Only differance I see is that the Yard Machines tiller is a chain drive and the Troy Bilt has a gear driven transmission. I know that is a huge differance but so is the price.

It might be cheaper and easier to repair/replace a broken chain than a broken gear.

About twenty years back I had a chance to buy a used TroyBuilt "Horse" I think it was. Didn't buy it and regret it still.
