diesel as herbicide

Has anyone ever used diesel on their fencelines as a
herbicide/weed killer. A fellow I ran into a while back said he used it & it was very effective & cost-efficient.
I just can't remember if he mixed it w/ something else or
diluted it w/ water or what ratio he used??

Sure it's effective, but may be illegal since it's considered a hazardous substance in spills.

How'd that word "not" get in there? Surely I didn't type that. Anyway, I took it out.

Re: diesel as herbicide

Good luck diluting diesel with water. Ever hear the one about how oil and water don't mix?

Diesel is often mixed (in varying proportions) with various herbicides. It is a fair (not great) herbicide used as is. I don't like to use it much myself... but that is just my personal pref. I prefer water and surfactant dilutants with my sprayable herbicides. I recommend you have a chat with your county extension agent for specific advice about your specific pest plants and your particular extant conditions.
