Clock Pics

This is the first clock I've ever built. I gave to to one of my friends (that is getting married tomorrow) as a wedding present.

It's mahogany with two coats of Watco Danish Oil (fruitwood and dark walnut blended).

The movement plays Westminster on the quarters and hour, and chimes the hours.

    Sorry for the crappy pictures.....

    Thanks for looking......

Looks very nice! I'm sure they will love it.

I used to get a catalog from a company called Klockkits or something like that. They sell/sold all sorts of movements. Have you dealt with them?

I never made anything big, just smaller cutout shapes using the 38MM movements.

    Re: Clock Pics

I bought the movement from Klockit.

They are pretty cheap on quartz movements.

They now sell just the lumber packs for clocks; along with plans and whole kits.

www.slarose.com is prolly the best place for mechanical movements.

    This clock-building is addictive !!!

Nice to see someone building things rather than collecting tools like one short bald fellow I know.

    Nice work!
