How to finish wiring flourescent lamp fixture

Hi all... I I have purchased a flourescent lamp fixture for my work bench; I am a novice in electrical issues...
the lamp fixture already has the 2 red wires attached from 1 end of the ballast to the end plate for the bulb; it also has a white and a blue wire attached from the ballast to the other end plate for the other end for the bulb; however,
i have 2 questions that the instructions fail to answer, of course...

1 wire, which is black and grey, coming off the ballast, is, I assume the ground; the instructions tell me to screw the ground into the fixture...

I have another wire...a white coming off the end plate attaching to the endplate for a bulb....where does this go???

I obviously did not purchase something else...the "part" that connects to the wall outlet...and to the other white wire?

    HELP!!!

    the o

The black needs connected to your incoming hot feed and the additional white wire off the lamp socket is connected to the white of your incoming feed. Attach the ground from your supply to the case of the fixture.
No idea why the black wire has gray on it......should be solid black.
