Never had much luck growing eggplant but the wife wants me to give it an earnest attempt this year. Previous experiments ended up with the "fruit" laying on the ground. Should/could I stake and tie them up?
We grew plenty of eggplant last year in plastic mulch, did not have to stake any of them. Which type are you growing, the standard or the variety which is long and thin?
I looked for different varieties at the nursery but they all just said "eggplant" so I'd guess I got a standard plant. I staked all 12 today so we'll see how that turns out.
