Killing Bermuda - Planting \"native\"

I have 35 acres near Bellville, Texas upon which I plan to build our retirement home. Due to a number of circumstances, I have applied for a "wildlife" tax exemption instead of an "agricultural" one. I have two patches of Bermuda grass, each about 3 acres in size, that I'd like to exterminate and replace with native grasses or some other "food plot" plant that would be more beneficial to wildlife. Anyone out there with knowledge of how to go about this task? Thanks.

Roundup should kill it all right, and then you could plow it under. But if you just don't mow it, the Bermuda might be just fine for the wildlife, especially if it's coastal bermuda.

I have gotten seeds from both the sites listed.

They will give you good direction.

Be sitting down when the cost factor for seeds hits! But I think it's worthwhile.

I agree with Bird, let it grow, let it grow, let it grow!
