Have you ever seen a moon shell?

They are huge and look like this...

I was fortunate to find 4 over the weekend.
Now I just need an idea what to do with them.
Any suggestions?

Welcome.

Never seen a moon shell. Are they common where you live?

They look like shells I've seen in Florida -- where is Oak Harbor?

Hi All!

Oak harbor is an island in Northern Washington state and yes, they are very common here, along with alot of other sea life.

Cowboyjg, 3 of these 4 shells had the escargot in them also. From what I understand, while searching the net for ideas, you can cook those snails for food!

Now I'll try most any kind of food, and I've heard that escargot is very good, but this is one time I'll just take their word for it instead of trying them myself.

Escargot cusine:

It's actually quite good. Usually a rubbery tasteless chewy substance covered in a good tasting sauce that usually is based on garlic.

Doubt that most places of fine cusine actually start with a whole snail. The meat is prepared seperately and placed in the shell which is then placed onto a special plate and smothered in sauce. They usually get served as appetizers.

This is what I have been told. For my buget the dumpster behind the arches serves as dining out.
