Generator plug

I need plug for the 240 volt outlet on my Coleman Power Mate Generator 4000-#pm-45-4002 I went to several hardware centers but the plugs they have won't fit .It needs a 4 prong plug .Can anyone HELP? Stormy

The are out there, there are two slightly different patterns for most generators depending on if it is a 20 amp vs 30 amp outlet.

Try a farm supply store, Tractor Supply, electrical supply wholesaler, or one of the big box stores, Home Depot or Lowes.

I have seen these plugs in all three locations.

yep - we bought our 4-prong plug at Home Depot. However, the sales guy was totally not helpful at all... had no idea what I was even talking about, and was looking in the wrong place. Meanwhile, I was standing right next to him, and happened to see it.
