Please give example of a rural TV program...
"I'm not from your planet, monkey boy!"
Gunsmoke?
Prairie Farm Report, Canadian show that's usually on Sundays.
Bird, I see by your answering with a question mark that you werre't sure what the question really was. Me too. It is ambiguous. A TV show with a rural setting or a TV show on a cable/sat chan devoted to or named "RURAL" e.g. RFD or the like.
Mayberry RFD, Lassie (original series with June Lockheart), Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, Have gun Will Travel, Rawhide, and on and on.... OR some animal husbandry thing or burning round bales for hot water heat on one of the specialized chan for rural folk????????????????/

Sky King, Rin Tin Tin, F Troop, Wild Wild West and a few others that time has dimmed in my memory. You didn't specify current programs!
MRB, "Sky King" ??? Penny didn't do it for me and what can I say, when they upgraded to the "Song Bird II" it just lost a lot of appeal.
Seriously, on reflection, I believe the original poster intended responses regarding programs on channels intended to appeal to rural folk, NOT just any entertainment programs that happened to have a rural venue.
If I am wrong then, Kung Fu, Gene Autry the singing cowboy, the Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, Zorro, Cisco Kid, Rifleman, Johny Yuma, Lonesom Dove (all incarnations), all reruns on the western channel, other horse operas not listed here, Little House on the Prarie, and a lot more.

CSI and Alias.
I also discovered a show called 'Friends' the other day. It was pretty funny.
I have Direct TV, basic package
If your are talking RFD-TV, "Clinton Anderson Downunder Horsemanship" on tuesday nite 10 pm plus "This Week in Agribusiness" on weekends, which has the old crew from US Farm Report. I usually don't watch regular/cable TV except for local news & Fox News.
