I don't know if this is the right place for this post. Some of you might think this is a silly question. But, do you have a name for your land, house, or property?
For example, Graceland, Tara (although fictional), Oak Alley, etc. I have always liked the way ranches or plantations had a name. Maybe its weird, but when given a name, it kind of comes to life even more to me.
I figured if I ever had a place big and fancy enough to warrant a name (fat chance), I'd just call it "Bird's Nest".
We have a neat-looking cast aluminum painted oval plaque mounted on the front of our garage with the words: "Higher Ground" on it. We came from an area of Kalifornika that was at the 4500 foot level and we now live at about 1200-something, but we definitely regard this as: "Higher Ground". Did you think you wouldn't get all sorts of smart --- answers?

Yeah, I knew I was kind of asking for it. But you don't know if you don't ask. I just like the concept. I have been thinking about what to call my sprawling 13 acres, but haven't come up with anything yet.
OK, so I don't want any "smart" replies on what I should name my place.
It's pretty much the norm around here to have a name on the gate, lots of ranches and such. I think this is a good question Bryan. I've been wondering for the last year what I need to call my place, but I've had no luck coming up with just the right words that will identify the place and at the same time say it's "home".
Jim, "Eagles End" is nice. I could call my place "Turkeys End". I've got turkeys everywhere as do my neighboring landowners.
